Technology-Driven Metal Finishers Find Solutions to Quality & Regulatory Challenges with SCL

From training instructors and technical presentations to presenting the latest in laboratory services in its exhibit, Scientific Control Laboratories was well represented at the recent NASF SUR/FIN Conference and Tradeshow in Rosemont, IL.

Company Vice President, Joelie Zak, AESF Fellow MSF and Senior Consultant, Frank Altmayer, AESF Fellow MSF took an active role in training during the Association’s advanced training courses for surface finishers. The intense program, part of the Master Surface Finisher (MSF) certification process, was directed to line operators and supervisors in the finishing industry who work with a variety of substrates and are interested in receiving their MSF designation.

Also featured on the SUR/FIN schedule was Scientific Control Laboratories Technical Director, Michael Burnson who presented a new theory of the mechanism of alkaline stripping of chromium. The program – specific to system designers, hard chromium players and other in the supply chain – was very well received by all those in attendance.

Rounding out Scientific Control Laboratories leadership team at the event were Brittany Maki, Eric Dangoy, CSP, Andrea Velasquez, and Melanie Williams. These team leaders managed discussions and service presentations on metallurgy, quality testing, and safety at the Scientific Control Laboratories exhibit located on the tradeshow floor.
