Scientific Control Labs Receives Nadcap Merit Status with Accreditation Renewal

Posted: June 10, 2019 | Categories: Company News

Scientific Control Laboratories (SCL) has earned renewal of their Nadcap accreditations in ISO/IEC 17025 quality management and testing services with the honor of receiving Merit Status. SCL will have an extended 24-month accreditation term for the most recent renewal by the auditors from the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) certification for Quality Systems, and Chemical Processing for Independent Testing Laboratories.

“Merit status is a goal we have been aiming for and this special recognition is important to us,” stated Linda Kenny, Quality Manager for SCL.

Merit status allow SCL to be rewarded with less frequent audit schedules, associated costs and pressures. It demonstraes the trust that the aerospace industry has in SCL’s testing services.

SCL has been a Nadcap accredited laboratory since 2008, however, their technical knowledge of metal finishing testing and specifications dates back many decades to 1938 when the lab was started. “SCL has always been about getting it right and providing accurate & timely results. Receiving merit status by the Nadcap auditors is something we are very proud of,” stated Joelie Zak, Vice President of SCL.

SCL has a scope of testing services that covers an extensive list of chemical, metallography and mechanical testing methods such as elemental analysis, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, microhardness, corrosion, thickness, abrasion, adhesion and failure investigations. SCL is also A2LA and NELAC accredited.
