Scientific Control Laboratories, Inc. (SCL) provides engineering and consulting services to a variety of manufacturing industries and a wide array of environmental, physical, and chemical testing. The Walt Disney Co. recently announced that it will independently test toys supplied to them for lead. In addition, Toys R Us Inc. has recently increased its toy inspection efforts. In light of the recent Mattel recall, we are stepping up our lead testing efforts. For many years, SCL has provided toy testing services for lead in paint and toy products for Hasbro, Tootsie Toy and many other toy manufacturing companies. We offer reliable, quality lab services. Each air sampling kit (pump, tubing & filters) is assembled, calibrated, and shipped to your facility. Easy instructions on how to use the sample pump are provided. Each operator being tested would wear the air sampling pump for a full shift.

Once the sampling is complete, a chain of custody and sampling logsheet (that includes a Sampling Certifications) will be required to be filled out. This will indicate the sample date & time, operator’s name, as well as a signed statement from the facility that the sampling was done in accordance with the SCL provided instructions.

Once the sample kit is returned to SCL, we conduct the post-calibration on the pump, and log the filters in for CrVI analysis via OSHA Method 215.The typical turnaround time for lab results & the report is five business days.

SCL is A2LA accredited for hexavalent chromium analysis, in accordance with Delphi DX900359, ISO 3613, GMW3034 specifications and many others.
