IEPA Class "K" Industrial Wastewater Operator's License And Wastewater Treatment Course
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) requires that all companies treating their industrial wastewater have a "Class K" Certified Operator certified for that site's treatment works (Title 35, Subtitle C, Chapt. II, Part 380). The Class K license is valid only for the treatment works at the company that the operator works for at the time certification is received. It the operator changes jobs, the license is no longer valid, and he/she must be re-certified. SCL has a Class K certifications training program that has been highly successful in preparing candidates for the examination. The class is designed to provide the operator with the information on what is needed for the exam, but also additional information that will improve the operation of the wastewater treatment system overall.
